Vhernier was established in Valenza in 1984 as a spontaneous protest against what is called “Valenza style”, namely, white gold, small diamonds set in pave, sheer similarity of the most trademarks to each other. The founders of the company teamed up sharing the ambition to create something peculiar, something different from conventional and contemporary but at the same time not momentary.
The original idea, first and foremost, is concerned with the jewellery volumes in relation to their ideal space and the person in it: gestures, body proportions, etc. In 2001 Vhernier’s President Carlo Traglio, an entrepreneur and discerning collector of modern and contemporary art, decided to open the first conceptual Vhernier boutique in Milan to display the company’s style from every angle. At present Vhernier boutiques have been inaugurated on Capri, in Rome, Paris, Geneva and Tokyo. There are Vhernier corner shops in many European cities.
Vhernier is considered to be one of the most sophisticated and intricate trademark in the world of high jewellery art. The company has created small “collection within collection”,called Animalier, which is a series of brooches and cufflinks made in the form of funny animals.
