The name of Chaumet, the oldest Maison settled on the Place Vendome, is undeniably associated with femininity, tenderness, solemnity, grandeur, luxuriousness. Not by chance. First and foremost, the House of Chaumet is closely interwoven with the history of France. Royal families, emperors, empresses, aristocracy, all of them were important clients of Chaumet. Josephine de Beauharnais, the muse and first client of the Maison, thanks to whom a multitude of iconic adornments were commissioned.
My recent visit to the gorgeous Chaumet boutique surely didn’t live me indifferent. The sumptuous silent that reigned there underlined the refined collections that express the soul of the Maison, mixed with impeccable excellence and Parisian elegance: “Josephine”, “Hortensia”, “Liens”.
“Josephine” pays hommage to the french empress Josephine de Beauharnais. Even nowadays she and her unique jewelry remain an important source of inspiration for the designers both in terms of aesthetics and emotions.
The core element of the collection is a pear shape diamond which highlights this jewellery composition, starting from the diademe, Chaumet’s signature piece created over the centuries. The rings, reminiscent of small tiaras, centering a diamond and delicately surrounded by movable elements which somehow tremble while moving.
“Hortensia” collection introduces to us a rare flower, blossoming in an imaginary garden, featuring its subtle colors by means of pink opal, tourmalines, kogolongs, sapphires, diamonds, mounted on three colors of gold. This sentimental collection undoubtedly is inspired by the Maison’s naturalistic style.
“Liens”, the iconic collection, numerously reinterpreted, but always maintaining its stylistic symbol -two crossed lines, crucial element of the collection, accompany every piece from rings to bracelets. Absolutely confortable to wear every day and for special occasions, “Liens” is a must have for the most sophisticated clientele who can appreciate impeccable taste, splendor and bourgeois flair so appropriate to the Maison Chaumet.
Chaumet: a name that inspires memories, refined sumptuous stories, certainly resembles Paris.
